  • “SUMMER IS HERE!” Said Simple Energy’s CEO on Ola S1 Pro Fire Accident

Within months of launch, an Ola S1 Pro electric scooter caught fire in Pune on 26 March, while the issue is still under investigation, the cause is believed to be a thermal runaway, where a lithium-ion battery inside An exothermic reaction occurs, damaged or short-circuited.

In just 31 seconds, the electric scooter – parked on the side of the road in a busy commercial area – was completely engulfed in flames.

People watching the incident made a video and uploaded it on social media.

One user (Manjunatha M) shared the video on Twitter and wrote “Ola S1 Pro Caught Fire in Maharashtra. The vehicle already has temperature management issues as reported by many YouTubers and auto experts. #OlaS1 #OLAFIRE #olas1pro #evfire #ev #bhash @OlaElectric @bhash @varundubey” 

On this Accident Bhavish Aggarwal (CEO-Ola Electric) has Responded “Safety is a top priority. We’re investigating this and will fix it”. 

And the Company (Ola Electric) have shared the Officially statement and wrote “we are aware of an accident in Pune that happened with one of our scooters and are investigating to understand the root causes and will share more update in the next few days we are in constant touch with the customer who is absolutely safe vehicle safety is Paramount importance and polar and we are committed to the highest quality standards in our product we take this incident seriously and will take appropriate action and save more in the coming days”

While things are getting tough for Ola Electric, Suhas Rajkumar (CEO & Founder Simple Energy) wrote on Twitter: “Summer is here!”

Further, He Wrote on TwitterEVs are notorious for having extremely long development times. This is not to improve efficiencies but also for QC & testing It’s a new technology that most are still figuring and perfecting If someone boasts record development time, it’s not necessarily a good thing #SafetyFirst”
