JSW MG Motor India confirmed the arrival of the Windsor PRO EV, boasting a brand‑new 52.9 kWh battery pack, elevated power figures, and a host of next‑gen connectivity and safety features.
Here’s what we know about the upgraded version of India’s best-selling electric car ahead of its launch tomorrow:
While the Windsor PRO shares its overall shape with the standard Windsor EV, MG has added Pro‑only touches to set it apart.
A subtle ADAS badge on the tailgate and a fresh set of multi‑spoke alloy wheels—echoing the MG Hector’s design—give the PRO a sportier edge. Matte chrome inserts along the bumper and side skirts further sharpen its road presence.
Step inside the PRO and you’ll find beige two‑tone upholstery with ventilated front seats, enhancing comfort on hot days.
The floating 12.3‑inch infotainment display and fully digital instrument cluster carry over, now paired with ambient lighting, an auto‑dimming IRVM and a wireless charging pad. Connectivity gets a boost thanks to Vehicle‑to‑Load (V2L) and Vehicle‑to‑Vehicle (V2V) power‑sharing capabilities.
At the heart of the Windsor PRO lies the new 52.9 kWh lithium‑ion battery, up from the standard model’s 38 kWh unit.
MG quotes an expected WLTP‑style range of 470–500 km, while real‑world testing is pegging a practical range of around 400 km on a single charge.
The electric motor delivers 134 bhp and 200 Nm of torque to the front wheels, promising responsive acceleration for city driving. Fast‑charging support of up to 80 kW should replenish 10–80 per cent in roughly 40 minutes, making longer trips more convenient.
For the first time on the Windsor, Level 2 ADAS features—including adaptive cruise control, lane‑keep assist and automated emergency braking—are standard on the PRO. Combined with V2L and V2V functionality, the Pro variant positions itself as a technologically complete package in MG’s EV lineup.
