The Comet EV will also offer customers five color options choose White, Blue, Green, Yellow, and Pink.

Inside the car, customers can expect sleek AC vents, rotary knobs for AC controls, and a large single-piece screen that houses the fully digital instrument cluster and touchscreen infotainment system.

Range and battery capacity

While there is no word on the powertrain details, it is expected that the Comet EV will have the same battery pack options as the Wuling Air EV, with a 17.3kWh unit and a 26.7kWh unit offering a claimed range of 200kms and 300kms, respectively.

The Comet EV will be priced between Rs 10-15 lakh (ex-showroom) and is set to compete with the Tata Tiago EV and the Citroen eC3. It is yet to be announced what features the electric vehicle will have, which will be positioned below the ZS EV in MG’s electric lineup.

Built on the Global Small Electric Vehicle platform, widely popular in China, this new model comes with options for both 2-seater and 4-seater variants. The foreign model, measuring a length of 2,599mm and a width of 1,505mm, also features a long-wheelbase variant with a length of 2,974mm and a width of 1,631mm.

As MG Motor prepares to introduce this innovative model to the Indian market, the question on everyone’s mind is whether it will be offered in the same compact size or in a new, adapted version.
