MG Comet EV 

MG Motors India Today launched its much-awaited electric car comet EV in the market with a price tag of 7,98,000 (Ex-showroom). MG Comet EV is now one of the most affordable electric cars that are available in the Indian Market.

Sleek and Futuristic Design

The Comet EV has a dual floating 10.25-inch display which makes it more attractive this is all about Comet EV’s dashboard, which offers an infotainment touchscreen system and a driver’s display with different widgets and customizable pages. The brushed silver element on the dashboard houses the AC vents, while the rotary knobs and switch for Eco/Sports mode are situated.

Range and Battery 

The Comet EV will have the same battery pack options as the Wuling Air EV, It has a 17.3kWh prismatic cell battery that offers a claimed range of 230kms. It also has an IP67-rated battery which can provide resistance to water and dust.

Built on the Global Small Electric Vehicle platform, widely popular in China, this new model comes with options for both 2-seater and 4-seater variants. The foreign model, measuring a length of 2,599mm and a width of 1,505mm, also features a long-wheelbase variant with a length of 2,974mm and a width of 1,631mm.

As MG Motor prepares to introduce this innovative model to the Indian market, the question on everyone’s mind is whether it will be offered in the same compact size or in a new, adapted version.

Price 

This Electric Car comes with 7,98,000/- (ex-showroom). That makes it the cheapest electric car available in the Indian market.  This will put it in direct competition with other popular electric hatchbacks such as the Citroen eC3 and Tata Tiago EV.

Test Drive and Booking 

During the launching event, the company told that it will start Comet EV’s test drive tomorrow (27 April) and its booking will go live next month 15 May 2023.

Charging Cost 

This electric car is not only the cheapest electric car in its price but it is also one of the cheapest charging cost cars in India. This car charges only Rs 519 to cover a distance of 1000 km.
