Testing Spied 

MG Air EV, a compact electric car that has been spotted testing on Indian roads near the MG Motor Plant in Gujarat. The car is expected to make an entry later this year in 2023. This can be confirmed according to the latest spy images that it could hit the Indian market sooner than later.

Looks & Design

The MG Air EV is essentially a rebadged version of the Wuling Air EV, which is currently on sale in Indonesia. However, the car will feature some design tweaks and MG branding to cater to the Indian market’s preferences. From the spy images, the car’s front fascia is likely to feature full-width lightbar-style DRLs, a vertically-stacked dual-barrel headlight unit, and a charging point sporting an MG badge. The car’s boxy appearance with tiny alloys, small taillamps, and 12-inch steel wheels with plastic hub caps gives it a distinct look that sets it apart from its competitors.


The car’s interior is where it gets interesting. The dashboard is equipped with a 10.25-inch twin-screen setup with displays for infotainment and instrumentation, while slimmer AC vents are placed below the infotainment unit. The car’s compact size makes it an ideal city car that can easily maneuver through traffic and narrow roads.

Battery Pack & Range

The MG Air EV will likely come with two battery pack options – 17.3kWh and 26.7kWh, delivering a claimed range of 250 kilometers and 300 kilometers, respectively. The car will feature a single electric motor that drives the front wheels, although the details are yet to be confirmed officially.
