The Mercedes-Benz EQS is expected to be priced at Rs.1.75 Cr (ex-showroom) in India, expected to be launched in India on 01 January 2022.

Battery Capacity & Charging Time

Mercedes-Benz EQS  has a 107.8 kWh lithium-ion battery that can cover a distance of 770 km. The EQS has 26% more battery than the Mercedes-Benz EQC.

Charging Time

The EQS has 200 kW DC fast charging technology support. So it can cover a distance of 300 km on a 15-minute charge and is WLTP certified.

Power & Performance

Mercedes Benz EQs come in two different variants. Both of them come with the same battery pack and different power transmissions.

Benz EQS 450+

The EQS 450 comes with a rear-wheel-drive setup. It has a rear-mounted single synchronous electric motor that produces 334 hp of power and 458 Nm of torque. Due to this it completes the speed of 0100 KMPH in 6.2 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 210 KMPH.

Benz EQS 580 4Matic 

The Mercedes Benz EQS 580 is a performance variant that comes with an all-wheel-drive dual synchronous motor. This electric motor generates high power of 523 hp &  856 Nm torque. For this, it accelerates from 0–100 KMPH in just 4.3 seconds and it can reach a top speed of 210 KMPH.

The Benz EQS has so many luxury and safety features. The EQS 580 4 is slightly different than the MATIC EQS 450+ such as the Mbux Hyper Screen Infotainment System, and Rear Steer Turning Radius.

Standard rear-axle steering

Rear-axle steering is available in both variants of the Benz EQS. But the Turn ratio of both variants is different. The EQS 450+ has a rear-wheel turn of 4.5 degrees, while the EQS 580 4 MATIC has a back wheel that can turn up to 10 degrees. For this reason, this car can also run diagonally.

EQS is an intelligent electric vehicle because of the number of sensors used in EQS. it has around 350 sensors depending on the instrument. these sensor tracks- record distance, speed, and acceleration, lighting conditions, rainfall and temperature, seat occupancy as well as the driver’s eye eyelid or passengers’ speeches, etc.

EQS 580 4 Matic Has Mbux Hyper Screen Infotainment System It has 3 large display A-pillars to A-pillars. It has a 12-inch instrument cluster for the driver, an 18-inch center, and a 12-inch display for the side passenger. The EQS 450+ has two infotainment displays, a 12-inch instrument cluster for the driver, and a 13-inch portrait touch screen.

Summary

Mercedes aims to launch 10 electric cars by 2022. Some cars have launched in EQA compact hatchbacks, EQB, EQC, and small SUVs as well as electric commercials like the eVito and eSprinter van.

The EQS is the first electric luxury sedan from Mercedes that comes with good performance and luxury interior. Mercedes plans to launch the AMG performance variant of the EQS later this year and will have the power of 700 hp.
