From the design point of view, the overall design of the Wagon R EV looks similar to its ICE-powered version. The front grille has been omitted in the EV as there is no engine for cooling. The company also made other minor changes like a split headlight design at the front to give it a more modern look.

From the side view, it seems that the alloy wheels are the same as those offered with Maruti’s Ignis. Because of its tall boy design, we’ll have to wait and see how aerodynamic the electric car is. Currently, information about driving range, battery size, and charging time is not available. Like the Nexon EV and Tigor EV, we expect the Wagon R EV to get at least 25kW fast charging support.

Currently, Wagon R with AMT gearbox starts at Rs.6.8 Lakh in Hyderabad. With a good-sized battery pack that can offer a real-world range of 200 to 250 km, we can expect the Electric Wagon R to cost around Rs 9-10 lakh.

The Tata Tigor EV is the cheapest electric car in the Indian market so far, priced at Rs 11.99 lakh.

Though there is no official confirmation, the Wagon R EV could make its debut in early 2022. It is also likely to be sold through Nexa dealerships to offer premium treatment to the buyers.
