This electric SUV garnered an impressive 30.38 points in adult occupant protection and 43 points in child occupant safety, marking it as a top performer in the EV segment for safety standards.

Frontal Offset Barrier Test Results

In the frontal offset barrier test, the XUV 400 EV demonstrated robust protection for both the driver and the passenger. In the frontal offset deformable barrier test, the Mahindra XUV400 scored 14.38 out of 16 points.

The EV provided strong protection for critical areas, including the driver and passenger’s head, neck, and upper legs.

While the driver’s chest and lower legs received adequate protection, the passenger’s chest and lower body received good ratings, underscoring the vehicle’s design focus on passenger safety.

Side Impact Test Results  

The XUV400 continued its impressive safety performance in side impact assessments.

In both the side movable barrier and side pole impact tests, the vehicle offered reliable protection to the occupants, highlighting Mahindra’s emphasis on comprehensive safety features. It scored 16 out of 16 points in the side Impact Test. 

Evaluated Variants and Standard Safety Features

Two variants of the XUV400 EV—specifically, the EC L and EL LH(O) trims—were evaluated in the Bharat NCAP tests.

Both trims come equipped with essential safety features as standard, including front airbags, seat belt pre-tensioners, load limiters, and seat belt reminders.

These features, along with Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and ISOFIX child seat anchors, contribute significantly to the overall safety rating.

The XUV 400 is offered with two battery pack options- 34.5 kWh and 39.4 kWh. The 34.5 kWh battery pack has a range of 375 Km and the bigger 39.4 kWh gets 456 Km.

With its 5-star rating and extensive safety measures, the Mahindra XUV400 EV sets a benchmark for safety in the electric SUV market.

The SUV’s strong performance in Bharat NCAP tests underscores Mahindra’s commitment to offering secure and reliable electric mobility solutions, making it a top choice for safety-conscious consumers.
