Hyundai is all set to cut the ribbons as it goes on launching the all-new four-wheeler electric Ioniq 5 which will hopefully debut next year in the Auto Expo event. In lieu of the launch, the company is thinking one square ahead as it goes on launching its worldwide platform for battery electric vehicles called E-GMP(Electric Global Modular Platform) for Indian customers. The Ioniq 5 model will be based completely on E-GMP.

What is the new E-GMP model?

According to Hyundai, its E-GMP platform consists of a vehicle’s chassis, which is divided into many components including the battery, motor, and power electric system. The platform makes use of a cutting-edge battery pack that is said to give a long range. Additionally, the high-voltage battery can power numerous electrical equipment thanks to the bi-directional charging connector. The platform’s integrated charging control unit (ICCU), which is utilized to charge both the high-voltage battery and the auxiliary battery, is another noteworthy feature. Hyundai also emphasized that this new platform can support a variety of vehicle kinds. And thanks to creative interior packaging, vehicles built on this platform will have a level floor, a thin cockpit, and a flexible yet roomy cabin.
