According to Tarun Garg, Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Hyundai India, the Creta EV will be the company’s most affordable electric car in the country upon its debut.

This electric version will be based on the facelifted Hyundai Creta and will join the Ioniq 5 in Hyundai’s growing electric vehicle lineup in India.

While the exterior and interior will largely resemble the ICE (internal combustion engine) Creta, the EV will feature distinct design elements to differentiate it from its gasoline counterpart.

Let’s delve into the Key details of the Hyundai Creta EV:

Hyundai Creta EV: Exterior Design

The exterior design of the Creta EV will closely mirror the ICE version currently on sale in India. However, it will include key elements to distinguish it as an electric vehicle.

From the latest spy shots, it’s expected that the Creta EV will come with aero-specific alloy wheels, a blanked-off grille, and potentially a redesigned bumper.

These tweaks will help emphasize its electric nature while maintaining the iconic silhouette of the Creta that has won over many Indian buyers.

Hyundai Creta EV: Interior Features and Technology

Inside the Creta EV, the layout will resemble that of the ICE model but will have some unique touches. The dashboard design will follow the familiar lines of the standard Creta, with updates to suit the EV experience.

For instance, the Creta EV will feature a three-spoke steering wheel and a beige color scheme for the cabin, differentiating it from its petrol-powered counterpart. The 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit remains, but it will be enhanced with EV-specific graphics.

In terms of features, the EV will likely come equipped with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, a panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, a Bose sound system, ventilated front seats, keyless entry, push-button start, and a powered driver’s seat.

Hyundai Creta EV: Safety and Powertrain

Safety features for the Creta EV will include Level-2 ADAS, six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESC, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and electronic stability control.

While Hyundai has yet to confirm the exact powertrain specifications, it’s anticipated that the Creta EV will offer multiple motor and battery pack options.

A range of over 400 km on a full charge is expected, making it an attractive option for those looking for an efficient electric SUV. Under the hood, the Hyundai Creta EV is expected to feature a 45-kWh battery pack paired with a 138-hp electric motor.
