Honda EM1 e Electric Scooter
A new electric scooter has been launched by Honda recently, which has been named the Honda EM1 e. It is the first electric scooter to be launched in Europe by Honda. Honda has also mentioned that, as per its EV transition plans, it will launch more than 10 electric scooters in the global market by 2025. The first electric scooter among these, the EM1e, was presented at the EICMA (International Motorcycle and Accessories Exhibition) 2022 global show in Milan. From the name EM1, the short form EM means electric moped. This electric scooter’s launch was announced in September of the previous year and revealed after two months. It can have a maximum range of 48 km as per the launch in the European market.
Features
The Honda EM1 e electric scooter has many fantastic features, like a USB type-A charging supply, a digital display, 3.3 liters of storage capacity below the saddle, and a transport rack.
The Honda EM1 e has features like front disc braking, rear disc braking, telescopic suspension, 12-inch front wheels, 10-inch rear wheels, etc. The front brakes consist of a disc and a single-piston caliper, and the rear brake has a drum. The system of braking in the Honda EM1 e is assisted by combined braking (CBS).
Looks and Design
The electric scooter from the Honda company, the EM1 e, has a compact and flat floor and a smooth style. The electric scooter is made around a steel frame and has a 31-mm telescopic fork in the front of the vehicle and two shock absorbers at the rear.
Battery and Charging Capacity
The EM1 e will have an in-house lithium-ion battery, known as the ‘Honda Mobile Power Pack e.” The battery is rated at 1.47 kWh and weighs 10.3 kg. The battery is charged with a charger rated at 270 W. It takes around 6 hours for the battery to get fully charged. As per the company, this electric scooter can climb an altitude of 10 degrees with a 75-kg rider on it. The battery is rechargeable from 25% to 75% within 160 minutes with the help of normal home chargers.
Motor power
The Honda EM1 e will have excellent motor capacity. The motor is placed at the rear of the vehicle. That motor is capable of producing 2.3 hp of power and 90 Nm of torque.
Price
The price of the electric scooter has not been revealed yet by the Company. After being successfully sold in large quantities in the global market, it will be launched in India, and at that time, its price will be revealed for the Indian market.
CONCLUSION
The EM1 e will be affordable in the Indian market. It will be available in three different colors. i.e., black, silver, and white. Overall, the features of the EM1 e are great.
