Gurugram’s Municipal Corporation Initiates Working on Electric Vehicle Zones
MCG (Gurugram’s Municipal Corporation) started working under the pilot project ‘Parivartan’ this was decided on Friday by the MCG Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja Under this project several zones like from Cyber City to Golf Course Road, MG Road Metro Station, IFFCO Chowk, HUDA City Centre, Galleria Market, Cyber Park, and Subhash Chowk, etc will be turned into Electric Vehicle Zones.
The meeting held on Friday, July 9, decided that several zones are to be converted into electric vehicle zones under the leadership of MCG Commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja. During the meeting, responsibilities were decided by the Commissioner and allocated to the officers to begin the Parivartan project.
Moreover, he said that the traffic police will play a major role in promoting the Electric Vehicle Zone by organizing different campaigns in selected areas.
The diesel auto owners of the selected areas will be told about the benefits of electric vehicles so they can switch from diesel to electric vehicles and also be given a subsidy of RS 60 to 65 thousand under the municipal corporation of gurugram and the Fame India program to acquire an electric vehicle.”

MCG Commissioner said, “The diesel auto owners of the selected areas will be told about the benefits of electric vehicles so they can switch from diesel to electric vehicles and also be given a subsidy of RS 60 to 65 thousand under the municipal corporation of gurugram and the Fame India program to acquire an electric vehicle.”
He also added, “several charging stations could be increased according to the requirement: In the first phase, owners of diesel vehicles will be encouraged to buy electric vehicles; after that, the traffic police will confiscate diesel vehicles.”
