A fire broke out in the parking lot of the Rivian plant in Normal on Saturday night, August 24th.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Normal Fire Department<\/a> spokesperson Matt Swaney, crews were called to the scene just before 9:45 p.m. for a reported vehicle fire. Witnesses outside the plant said they saw flames as early as 9:50 p.m. Source: www.25newsnow.com<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n

While the exact number of vehicles damaged is still being determined, Swaney confirmed that an unspecified number of vehicles were affected by the fire. The EV assembly plant itself was not impacted.<\/span><\/p>\n

Firefighters worked through the night to contain the blaze, and by midnight, the fire was extinguished. However, crews remained on the scene to investigate the cause of the fire.<\/span><\/p>\n

No injuries were reported as a result of the incident.<\/span><\/p>\n
