Harley-Davidson is known for its classy and powerful motorcycles. They make a wide variety of bikes like Touring, Strike, Street and Cruiser. But in 2021, a new electric bike category has been added to the Harley-Davidson portfolio with the reveal of the Livewire One.
Design
It’s very hard to say that this is an electric motorcycle. until you look at water cooling aluminum casing that cowl the battery pack. Livewire contains lots of typical Harley bits including macular body structure and modern-retro styling.
Some things have been kept in their place although they serve no purpose, it’s just for aesthetics like a charging port that sits on a fake fuel tank. which could be put somewhere else. The overall design is very neat and clean; you won’t find a single cable or stray wire on the side.
As a Premium E-Motorcycle, Livewire is also loaded with a bunch of smart and safety features. thanks to the preinstalled 4G sim.
Battery and Charging
With a massive 15.5 kWh battery pack, Harley claims a range of 235km. This seems low at first glance but we have to keep in mind that this bike has 249 kgs of kerb weight. Charging at home with a standard charger will take a long-lasting 12.5 hours, but if you’re able to find a fast charger it’ll just take an hour.
Power and Top Speed
Livewire’s liquid-cooled electric motor produces 105bhp and 116NM of peak Torque. with this amount of power, this electric motorcycle can sprint from 0-100 kmph in just 3.5 seconds with Claimed Top speed of 177 kmph (110mph).
Expected Price & Launch date
Its cost could be around 32 Lakh to 35 Lakhs, which can fluctuate depending on what type of schemes the government offers at that time. But for now, Harley has no plans for India about Livewire. But maybe we could see it in the next One or Two years.
