Edison Future EF1-T Electric Solar Pickup Truck Price, Specs, Launch, Highlights

Established in 2022, Edison future is an American startup that produces solar powered electric trucks and vans, which belongs to the Chinese Solar panel manufacturer SIP Energy. They have a total of 2 products. The first one is an EF1-T Pickup truck and the second is an EF1-V Delivery van. The company assures that the EF1-T pickup and EF1-V van both are Designed and Engineered from scratch by Livermore in California.

And as per the company, it’s a “robust and modern multi-purpose Pickup Truck for work, travel, family or personal use in varying road and environment conditions, from the city streets to off-road”.

Exterior Look

The truck’s exterior seems very neat and clean with minimal exterior elements used. The front has C Shape LED lights which reminds of Ford F-Series. We got a flush door handle and Camera pod(as an ORVM) at the side that brings quite a sleek side look to the truck.

Edison future offers the option of solar panel roofs on both pick-up truck and delivery van. which is estimated to add an extra 15-25 miles during sunny days.

Interior

unlike the Exterior the interior is very futuristic and fresh. Pick-up has a seating capacity of 6 people. because we didn’t get to see a center console in it. due to which 3 three people can comfortably sit in the front.

There’s no button or dial to access the interior features. but instead, there’s a massive 17.5-inch touch screen infotainment display. and two dedicated displays for the side camera located near A-pillars. also there’s drives display along with a heads-up display that shows various vehicle information while on the go.

Variants and Towing capacity

There are a total of three configuration variants available that you can select from. First and standard with a single motor that can tow 7.500 pound, Second is a premium Dual-motor variant with a towing capacity of 9,000 pounds, and the last and topped Tri-motor capable of towing 11,000 pounds.

Range and Charging Time

The range of trucks depends on which variant you choose. The standard single motor claims range of 480+ km second with a Dual-motor set-up claims a 611+ km range and the largest one with a tri-motor set-up will go 720+ km on a single charge. a DC fast charger will charge the battery pack from 0 to 80% in just 25 minutes. on Expected battery capacity of 100kw to 120 kW.

Power and Acceleration

Like the range, the pickup’s Acceleration depends on different variants. The single motor can sprint 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds, Second Dual-motor produces 600 hp and can sprint from 0-60 mph in 4.5 seconds, and the last one with the tri-motor version will generate 700 hp of power and will sprint from 0-60 mph in just 3.9 seconds.

Expected Price & Launch Date

Starting Price is Expected to be $40.000 in the USA. the launch date is not announced by the company till now but the company says it hopes to start production in 2025, so we can expect its launch around 2025.
