Project Arrow
Ontario Tech University in Oshawa has transformed Project Arrow from concept to reality over the past year. This car is designed to support Canadian suppliers that have the potential of becoming part of the EV revolution and this will have cutting-edge technology.
The inspiration behind this vehicle came when Flavio Volpe, the president of the Automotive Parts Manufacturers Association saw the designs made by the students of Carleton University during a competition. To turn this car into a reality, Flavio Volpe used the design of 58 companies’ technology along with 200 suppliers offering the parts to be used inside the car to make it stand out from the crowd. This gives it a unique touch from advanced wheels to cybersecurity features.
Objective
“The project aims to showcase technology for Canadian companies that could be sold and is commercially ready,” Volpe said. “What we’ve done here is given 58 suppliers an opportunity to demonstrate their technology in a way that they’d never be able to do, if they were a supplier to a Lexus, to a Ford.”I like the confidence of this guy and I can’t wait to see this car on road.
Project Arrow has received a huge amount of funding from the Canadian government that helped it in becoming a reality. This brings us to the technical parts of the cars. However, we don’t have significant data in our hands but the estimated range of the vehicle can have a range of 500 kilometers accompanied by a horsepower of 550. The car has an aerodynamic design, sensors, and cameras according to the prototype.
Interior
Talking about the interior, the car has a solar panel that helps it connect with the environment.

The final assembly of the car took place in Ontario Tech, a university linked with giving birth to many auto industry stars. On this the vice president of Ontario Tech Les Jacobs said that “Project Arrow is an all-Canadian initiative, and we are very happy that APMA partnered with Ontario Tech for its capabilities, both in terms of the university’s innovative ACE Core Research Facility, and the passion and experience of our faculty and students,” he said. “It’s a special feeling to know that we are making a vital contribution to support innovative lab-to-market projects in our country in the critical fight against climate change.

APMA was a part of the Aviation Company along with the auto industry. The company brainstorm over the product for many years and thus came up with the Avro Arrow project.
