The electric three-wheeler is giving a boost to the electric vehicle revolution in India. In this context let us have a look at how the E3W market performed in the previous month and which companies topped the list.
This rise was evident from the fact that the sales of E3W which stood at 34,000 in the month of October 2022 have risen to 38,728 in November 2022 where the passenger and cargo vehicles stood at 35,405 and 3,319 respectively.
The reasons for this growth can be that E3W provide last-mile connectivity, they are easy to operate, requires less manpower, and generates a side hustle for low-income people.
Electric Three-Wheeler Sales data for November 2022
The electric 3W passenger vehicles registered an increased growth of 11.21% on a month-on-month sales basis and the cargo witnessed a growth of 12.17% respectively. Overall E3W sales were up by 11.3% from the preceding period.
In November 2022, the sales figures of the top 7 industry players of electric 3-wheelers in the passenger and cargo segments accounted for 34.14% of the global E3W market. The margin in sales of Mahindra(8% share) by selling 3,074 EVs and YC Electric set a target of selling(7.92% share) that differed by only 7 units from Mahindra, however, they were placed closely.
Saera Electric Auto held the third position by selling (5.39%). It is known as Mayuri by the common man. It sold 1,904 E3W in the Indian market.
Dilli Electric (3.77%) sold 1,461 E3W, Champion Poly Plast sold 1,247(3.22%), Mini Metro EV LLP sold 1,232 (3.18%), and Unique International made sales of 1,057 (2.73%) companies that held the place respectively.
This month Piaggio which sold just 931 E3W was placed at the eighth position and was replaced with Unique International which reclaimed its entry into the top 7 clubs.
