The BYD India e6 has a battery and an electric motor. The BYD e6 is a five-seater electric MPV based on the company’s e-Platform. The MPV is powered by a 71.7kWh lithium iron phosphate battery that delivers 95 hp and 180 Nm to a single electric motor, allowing for a top speed of 130kph. It can also regenerate energy from other sources. While the e6’s performance figures aren’t particularly impressive, especially given its low price, the MPV is designed for efficiency. BYD claims that a single charge can provide up to 415km of combined WLTX tested range – not to be confused with the more rigorous WLTP test cycle. While the official dimensions for the Indian model have yet to be revealed, they are expected to be similar to those of the e6 sold elsewhere. The international e6 is 4.69m long, which puts it halfway between the Maruti Suzuki Ertiga (4.39m) and the Kia Carnival (4.39m) (5.11m). BYD India is eager to provide customers with a vehicle warranty of three years/1,25,000 km, a battery cell warranty of eight years/5,00,000 km, and a motor warranty of eight years/1,50,000 km for the e6. The e6 MPV will be available in only eight cities: Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Ahmedabad, Kochi, and Chennai.
