Coimbatore-based electric vehicle maker Ampere Vehicles has partnered with a diversified engineering firm, Greaves Cotton. Under the brand names V48, Reo, and Zeal, Ampere now offers three different types of electric scooters.
Ampere scooters use brushless DC motors, which are powered by a lithium-ion battery pack. Ampere’s R&D center is located in Coimbatore and is where the electric motor, as well as the charger and battery controller, have been developed. On the other hand, the battery packs are sourced from Taiwan and China. Currently, The Companies is offering a total of 7 Electric scooters in India.
